Child car seat security is a critical issue that many parents are inclined to take for granted. A lot of people think that you can just go buy really expensive car seat and buckle it and then that’s fine.I’m here to tell you that that just isn’t quite the case. This lesson really woke me up and made me really take a close look at all of the different toddler car seat safety procedures.
Like most people do, when my son turned twelve months old, I simply turned her car seat around to face the frontward direction. This is common procedure and I really didn’t think twice about making the change. Child car seat safety wasn’t a really big concern, as I just took it for granted that if I stuck my kid in it she would be safe.
I just simply made the assumption that because I knew how to put the car seat in facing the rear that it wouldn’t be any big deal to figure out how to put it in facing the front. I didn’t really suppose that I needed directions as I already had it done and it looked good. Truth be told I guess I should look at them just like many other people who don’t take car seat security very seriously.
To my dismay and dismay, when I looked in the rear view mirror as I was gone around the corner I saw my twelve month old son leaning over into the middle of the seat. This spectacle shook me to my foundation and I found myself stopping and taking a closer look at a way to reinstall the baby car seat in the car properly. When I returned home I searched for the instructions manual so I could be absolutely sure that it was installed properly.
All it took was one unpretentious little error and it could’ve been disastrous. I quake to think of what could have happened because I was just too lazy to follow the directions provided for ultimate infant car seat security. After this happened it inspired me to delve into the topic of toddler car seat safety little deeper. This research led to some discoveries about daughter car seat security that I didn’t know. The first biggie was that if at all possible the car seat needs to be installed in the middle seat. I had my son’s car seat in the back passenger side. I was also surprised to find out that many people don’t know that the kids should always sit in the back of the vehicle.
I also discovered that stores like Babies-R-Us offer educational programs about youngster car seat safety. These stores also offer to install your youngster’s car seat for you if you would like. This is a great way to make sure that your little one is safe and sound while you are on the road.
