Make Sure All-Terrain Stroller Is Nicely Constructed

Typically a jogging stroller will have 3 wheels, one in the front and two at the back. The best type of wheel will be large and sturdy, preferably air-filled. The larger the wheel the smoother the ride. Look for alloy wheels rather than steel ones because they tend to be lighter and do not rust.

If you are planning to jog on particularly rough and bumpy surfaces then you may want to consider shock absorbers and suspension systems on your stroller. Shock absorbers and suspension are becoming more available on stroller models.

However, bear in mind that most manufacturers have already accounted for shock absorption when designing and building their strollers. So if you are going to be jogging on relatively flat sidewalks and roads, shocks and suspension systems are not necessary and often increase the price of a stroller.

The distance between your hands and the floor is your optimal handle height. Many jogging strollers also include a safety arm leash or wrist tether in case the brakes fail or the jogger should runaway from you accidentally, which can happen if you stumble or fall while running.

First and foremost, a jogging stroller should include a five-point harness to keep the child safe and secure inside the stroller seat. Make sure that the buckles are easy to use and are comfortable for your baby while in use.

Look for deep and padded seats that recline. Reclining seats are especially important for young babies who have less head control or simply for ensuring that baby can take a nap. A neck roll is sometimes included, or can be purchased separately.

In conclusion, choosing a jogging stroller need not be a complicated process, provided you know the most important things to look for. You should also consider just how serious a jogger you are and over what kind of terrain you will be running.
